Some thoughts from the last few days

February 28, 2013

I haven’t written anything here in a week or so. I got lazy. Here are some things I should have written about, but didn’t.

  • I changed my Twitter name again. Back to something a little more normal (and sensible). This was at the urging of Michele, who hates Twitter. Even she thought the name @itsaMEKzing was stupid. It’s now @m_edward_kelly, which makes more sense than either of the previous handles. Not sure why I hadn’t thought of it sooner.
  • Seth MacFarlane was not a terrible Oscar host. He wasn’t particularly funny, but people need to get over themselves. It’s an awards show, not a peace summit.
  • Way to go Mississippi. Thanks for making the rest of us proud by murdering your first openly gay mayoral candidate. In fairness, we’re not sure he was murdered because he was gay. It could have been because he was black, this is Mississippi.
  • Calm down about that last bullet point, this blog isn’t a peace summit either.

I thought MacFarlane was terrible, I laughed once, and for the life of me I can’t remember what it was at. Then again, I think Family Guy/Marky Mark Family Guy/Black Family Guy/Political Family Guy are as far from funny as TV gets today, so that may have something to do with it.

By the way, I wasn’t offended by anything he said in the least, just thought it was awkward and unfunny.
