I’m having a hard time understanding what the Sanford Police were thinking

March 18, 2012

I’m astounded by what I’ve just heard.

The 911 tapes have been released in the Trayvon Martin case, and how anyone in the Sanford, Florida Police department can have listened to these and not insisted upon a further investigation is simply incredible.

Every call – all seven of them – tells the exact same story: a young man was heard or seen on the ground screaming and pleading for help, and then a gun shot went off, and then the screaming stopped. No one reported a fight, or a confrontation, or anything else to suggest that George Zimmerman was indeed acting in self defense as he claims.

How can you tell who was screaming? Would either of them be screaming after the gunshot?

I wondered that, but one of the callers says he saw the young man on the ground and that he was the one screaming for help. Also, no one is claiming that the screams were Mr. Zimmerman. It seems to be accepted in the reports that I’ve read that the screams are from Trayvon Martin.
