What I won’t be reading tomorrow (but everyone else will)

October 23, 2011

For those interested, tomorrow sees the release of Walter Issacson’s biography of Steve Jobs. This is going to be a blockbuster, and I built a very large display of the book after we closed the store tonight to be ready for sale first thing tomorrow (as did someone in almost every bookstore in the country I’ll bet). However, I must say that I’m quite torn over the whole thing.

I do really enjoy Issacson’s writing – his biography of Einstein is a must read – but I just have no interest in knowing more about Steve Jobs than I already do. So, actually, I guess I’m not all that torn about it. I will not be reading the book. That settles it. Sorry, Mr. Issacson. Please make your next biography about George Lucas (who stabs me in the heart every time he releases Star Wars again), and I’ll be in all the way.
