I’m using Firefox to write this (but I feel a little bit like a traitor)

July 21, 2011

So, I’m seriously considering a move back to Firefox from Chrome when using my Windows laptop. It just seems faster and more reliable lately. I’m torn over this, because I really do like Chrome. And besides that, I’m kind of a Google freak.

I’ve gotten in pretty early on a lot of what Google has developed lately. I started using Chrome the day it came out. I’ve been early to Google Music and Google+ (both of which I really love). I was later to the game in getting an Android phone, but I still love the way in integrates with all of Google’s other services. I even got a test Chromebook called the Cr-48.

The bottom line is usability though, and Chrome seems to be getting less and less useable all the time. It freezes on me, certain sites (such as, um, this one) have stopped displaying correctly, and it just kind of feels sluggish overall. I’m curious to know if anyone else is having these problems, or if maybe it’s just me. I suppose it’s entirely possible that through some freak metaphysical coincidence the Google Chrome browser just stops working in my presence, but I strongly doubt it.

All I know is that I hope Google can smooth things out pretty soon. I really don’t want to go down in history as the technological equivelant of  Benedict Arnold for infrequently read, unpublished author blogs.

It may be you, it still works great on my netbook. Try ad and flash block, try clearing your cache, and normal windows maintenance (defrag, virus scan, what have you).

I will give you the benefit of the doubt because you are my friend and my cousin, but I will check up on this situation, and if it is not handled to my satisfaction, I will be forced to report your treason.

I’ve gone back to the Fox! It’s just better than chrome….more stable and more fun to use.

I’ve still found myself going back and forth. Chrome seems a little more glitchy, but I still like the feel of it better. Thanks.
