Reaching out to the kind folks of the internet for a little help tonight

July 15, 2011

I’m appealing to the kindness of friends and strangers alike tonight, or really to anyone who wants to do a small good deed. A couple of weeks ago I flew to Seattle to run a Half-Marathon with a great group of people from Team in Training. Our goal, as the Team’s goal always is, was to raise gobs of money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and to help that great organization fund research and patient services in the battle against blood cancers everywhere. It’s a special cause, and one really close to my heart.

My father, Ed Kelly was diagnosed with Lymphoma back in 2008. He’s been one of the lucky ones so far, and is currently doing great. But there’s no doubt that this is due in a very large part to the efforts that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society have been putting forth all these years. So my question tonight is this: can you help?

You don’t have to do much, even a small donation can help lead to big breakthroughs in new medicines or contribute to any of the great things that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is doing for patients and their families. Here’s a link to my fundraising site, which is hosted by Team in Training. All the money goes straight to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and they can use every penny. I have less than $1,800 to raise, and I only have a couple more weeks to raise it; but that’s not a lot if everybody just gives a little.

Thanks for your time tonight everyone, and thanks for anything you can do to help.
