I get spam
Worpress has a really great service called Askimet which protects the blogs that it hosts from all manner of spam comments. It blocks them before they can be posted and holds them in a spam folder which I review from time to time in case someone’s real comment is accidentally gobbled up and banished as spam. It was during one such review today that I realized whoever is writing up all these spam comments and sending them out to blogs must be a real idiot. Here’s a sample of some “comments” in my spam folder:

Are you kidding me, spam bots? That’s the best you can do? No wonder Askimet catches so many of these things. They’re really poorly done. I would be much more impressed with these spammers if they at least tried a little. How hard can it be to write a few short sentences that are both coherent and applicable across a wide range of topics? Here’s a few:
