Of brilliant writer’s birthdays and parental wedding anniversaries

April 23, 2011

Today is the traditionally accepted birthday of one William Shakespeare. Oddly enough, it is also known to be the day that he died 52 years later. Coincidence? Probably…

I’ve always enjoyed Shakespeare, though admittedly some of his plays are more interesting to me than others. The beloved Romeo and Juliet, for example, I find a little boring; however, the lesser know Measure for Measure is one of my favorites. Regardless, Shakespeare is easily the most influential English language writer of all time; and for that, we should all give him a friendly nod (or imaginary fist-bump?) on this lovely Saturday.

We should also all give a friendly nod (or, for me, a real-life fist bump) to my wonderful Mom & Dad, who were wed on this day 34 years ago. Happy Anniversary, you two crazy kids!
