My reading list for this week is full
In keeping with my “theme” of measuring the progress of the goals I’ve been working towards this year, I’ve been tracking all the books I read through Goodreads. They’ve developed a handy Android App for scanning books onto my shelves, so it’s been pretty easy to do. And I set myself up with a goal of reading 100 books for their 2012 Reading Challenge in order to stay motivated.
I’ve now finished 25 books this year; and although that’s 8 books behind where I should be to reach my goal, I’m feeling pretty good about it. I’ve already powered through a couple of classics that I’d managed to never read before like The Hobbit and Treasure Island, and I finally sat down and read the entire Harry Potter series as well. It’ been fun.
Right now I’m technically in the middle of about 6 books – for some reason I’ve always liked to read more than one at a time – but the two I want to finish by the end of the week are The Time Machine by H.G. Wells and On Writing Well by William Zinsser. They’re both very good so far, and I should be able to get through them within the next couple of days and then move on to finishing those other four.
If you’re also on Goodreads and haven’t connected with me already I love for you to do so. You can find my profile over there in the side bar, or just follow this link. Happy reading!
